How to use the sheet
- Write the date, shift start and end, and check the unit you track: cases, picks, units, lines, pallets, or another unit. Only compare shifts with the same measurement.
- After each completed order or when safely stopped, note the time, task or zone, units completed, and your running total. Use the notes column for unusual work or interruptions.
- If you change jobs during the shift, write down the other assignment too. You can record non-picking work even if no units were completed.
- At the end of the shift, enter your shift duration, relevant excluded minutes and counted picking hours. Divide your total picked units by counted picking hours to calculate your personal rate.
Should breaks and other jobs count?
That depends on the comparison you want to make. A full-shift rate and an active-picking rate use different time totals. Only subtract break or non-picking minutes if your chosen method excludes them, and apply the same rule consistently. The sheet does not reproduce your employer's engineered standard or percentage-to-standard score.
If you did no picking, leave the picking-rate field blank. You can still keep a record of your other work. Never interrupt equipment operation just to write an entry.
Want automatic calculations later?
Use the free browser calculator when you are back online, or track shifts with the My Pick Rate app. The native app is designed to save entries on your phone without cell service. Paper works independently, with no signup and no syncing required.
