How to track your warehouse pick rate without cell service

You should not lose track of your work because your phone has no signal in the cooler, freezer, or far end of the warehouse. The My Pick Rate Android app can save shift entries directly on your phone, then sync them when your connection comes back.

Why your phone can lose service during a shift

Large buildings, metal racks, equipment, and enclosed work areas can weaken cellular reception. Your employer's work system might still function over its own network, but that does not mean your personal phone has an internet connection. If your workplace permits Wi-Fi, that may provide internet even when you have no cell signal.

What the Android app can do without a connection

Once you have the app installed and set up, you can record completed case totals to your shift while disconnected. My Pick Rate saves those entries locally on the phone and can use locally recorded work to show your running pace. When internet access returns, pending entries can sync to your account without counting the same saved entry twice.

A locally saved entry is not yet a server-confirmed entry. Keep it on the device until synchronization succeeds.

What still requires internet

Downloading the app, signing in or verifying an account when required, syncing across devices, uploading proof photos, and other server-backed features need a connection. Offline shift tracking does not mean that every app screen, online resource, or feature works with no service.

A practical routine for a warehouse with poor reception

  1. Install and set up the Android app while you have a connection.
  2. Record completed orders or case totals at a safe stopping point and follow your workplace's phone policy. Never use a phone while operating equipment.
  3. If reception disappears, look for the app's saved-locally status rather than assuming an entry was uploaded.
  4. When service returns, allow pending work to synchronize and check that it has been confirmed.
  5. Do not uninstall the app or clear its data while important work remains only on the device.

How is this different from the website calculator?

The free cases-per-hour calculator is a browser tool. It can retain a shift in that browser when storage is available, but the webpage is not guaranteed to load without internet, and browser data is not the mobile app's offline sync queue. If you regularly work in a no-signal area, use the Android app for local shift entry.

What if your saved work has not synced?

Keep the app installed and reconnect with the same account when required so it can retry. Avoid clearing storage or reinstalling while there are unsynced entries. If work continues to show as pending or needs attention after service returns, see My Pick Rate support before making changes that might erase device-only work.

Is this the same as your employer's rate?

No. My Pick Rate is an independent personal tracker. A warehouse may use counted-time rules, engineered standards, or adjustments that differ from your simple cases-per-hour calculation. See how warehouse performance standards differ.
